National Heritage Areas Gather In Atlanta

Each year, Cane River National Heritage Area (CRNHA) Commission funds a number of preservation projects that have a significant impact on the heritage area through its competitive grants program. October 2008 proved to be an exciting time for the organizers of two such projects focused on Underground Railroad activity in Natchitoches Parish and revitalization of the historic Saint Matthew School site.
