Tommy Whitehead forwarded me a report from the Kappa Alpha Fraternity House. They report that the suspect in the April 4 rape on Second Street was caught breaking into a vehicle in the KA parking lot. They indicate that two active members spotted the suspect attempting to remove a stereo system from a member's car. Active, Bart Robinson, had enough sense to immediately dial 911. While waiting for the police, other members engaged the suspect in conversation. The Natchitoches Historic District Homeowners Association is thankful that the confrontation ended without violence and everyone is safe! The suspect, Chad Everett Jones, had been seen in the neighborhood trying to sell drugs (prescription Xanax). His activities had been reported to police earlier in the month.
